Shirley Anne Davidson

Shirley Anne Davidson, age 81, was born in London, England on July 16, 1933. She peacefully passed away at St. Johns Hospital surrounded by family, on Oct. 3, 2014 after a courageous fight with lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Walter F. (Dave) Davidson Jr. She is survived by her brother Guy Pocock, wife Karen of Surrey, England; son Walter Davidson III, wife Ana Maria; son Andrew Davidson, wife Adeline; grandchildren Amanda Davidson, Andrew Davidson Jr. and Austin Davidson. Dave and Shirley moved to Port Hueneme, Ca. in 1966, where they became an intricate part of the community and met some of her closest friends Ann Stringer, Edna Love and Fran Lowe. Shirley worked at the CBC Navy Exchange for 42 years. She attended church and Bible Study at the CBC Base Chapel. Shirley was a loving and kind grandmother, she attended all her grandchildren's Graduations from Oxnard High, and later Amanda's graduations from Cal Lutheran and CSU Fullerton, Andrew Jr's from Brooks Institute. She attended many of Austin's baseball games while he was at Pepperdine University. She was looking forward to seeing Austin play for the Washington Nationals organization. We know she will, with the best seat in the house. On Friday, Oct. 17th there will be a wake from 5-9pm at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad's & James Reardon 401 West Channel Islands Blvd. Oxnard 93033. We encourage you to bring memories and any photos you would like to share. On Saturday, Oct. 18th at 10:00am a graveside service will be held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park 2052 Howard Rd. Camarillo 93012. Following the service there will be a gathering at the Oxnard Masonic Lodge, 341 South K St. 93030, with lunch being served. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society 2186 Knoll Dr. Suite A, Ventura 93003. She gave her whole life to her family of whom she was immensely proud of. She was greatly loved in return by all who were blessed to know her and she will be greatly missed.
