

Toshiko Robbs, the daughter of Hidenobu and Miyako Hagiwara, was born on July 1st 1932 in a province of Japan. She departed this life On Tuesday January 10, 2023 in Oxnard, California. She was 90 years of age.
Our mother, also lovingly called Chiby, named by our father meaning Shorty, met the love of her life, Charles Robbs while working as a clerk typist at the Air Force base where he was stationed.
After a short courtship, they were wed on January 14, 1954 in Fukuoka, Japan. In May of 1954 they moved together to the United States.
Chiby worked for Boeing Aircraft and later retired from the 3M Company. She enjoyed sewing and would make matching outfits, for special occasions and school clothes for her children. She helped raise some of her grandchildren when needed. One of her favorite pastimes was gambling in Las Vegas and Chumash. She loved traveling the world with her husband, family, and children. She enjoyed traveling so much her personal license plate read TVLAGN, travel again.
She is survived by her 6 children, Linda Duffy, Pat Joseph-Chester, Alfred (Aniki) Robbs, Albert (Buchan) Robbs, Charles Robbs Jr., and Carl Robbs.
29 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Her sister Nobuko Hagiwara, brother Eiji Hagiwara , nephew's Hiroki, Hidetoshi, and Yasuharu; niece Fukiko, and great nieces and nephew.
Preceded in death, her husband Charles Robbs, sister Fumiko and grandchildren Leanna and Chance.
Her unique sense of humor, her laughter, her frozen burritos, and collard greens, will be missed.
