

Mrs. Charity Ludie Rhoads died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at her residence in Ariton, Alabama. She was 92 years of age. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Ariton United Methodist Church with Rev. Anita Brown officiating. Burial follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 4, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to service time at the church Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ariton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rhoads was born July 25, 1918 in Ariton, Alabama the daughter of the late Abner J. Ragan and Sallie Fralish Ragan. She was a member of Ariton United Methodist Church where she was also treasurer for The United Methodist Women for eight years.
Mrs. Rhoads was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice Rhoads. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in- law, Sharon Strickland (Bobby) of Faulkville, AL, Linda Smith (Rodger) of Madison Heights, Michigan, Joyce Szydlowski (Vince) of Hazel Park, Michigan; nieces and nephews, Jeanette Brown of Ozark, AL, Sara Thompson of Elba, AL, Travis Gunter (Ellen) of Newton, AL, H.G. Gunter (Anita) of Ozark, AL; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
