
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Lee Jones and Father Tom Nixon officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:45pm on Saturday prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Childrens Home, 3140 Zelda Ct., Montgomery, Alabama 36106.
Mr. Lewis was born in Midland City on November 19, 1926 to the late Cody Marvy and Augusta Dykes Lewis. He served in the US Army during WWII in Japan. Mr. Lewis was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and also was a layspeaker and Sunday school teacher. He loved to garden and especially loved his family.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle Renfroe Lewis; a grandson, John Tatom; his brother, Perry Lewis and sister, Virginia Willis.
He is survived by his daughters, Cornelia Page (Kenneth) of Ozark, Irene Ellis (Rickey) of Brundidge, Kathy Martin (Randy) of Ozark; two brothers, Lloyd Lewis and Billy Lewis; one sister, Ora Lominack; his grandchildren, Cody Page, Holly Tatom, Keith Martin, Katie Martin and one great-grandson, Jaxson Page.
