

Michael Donald Rosentrater , a resident of Ozark, Alabama, passed away July 11, 2010 in Morgantown, West Virginia after a short illness. He was 74. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10:00a.m. from St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Ozark, Alabama with Rev. Dr. Tom Nixon officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Full military honors will follow the memorial service at the church. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of services on Saturday at the church.
Mike had an extensive military career expanding from February 1957 through August 1982. During his career in the military, he received numerous decorations and medals including The Purple Heart, Air and aircraft medals, Valorous Unit Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), various medals from Vietnam, as well as many others. After retiring from the army as a MSG E-8, he returned to school at Troy State University. He graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree in Personnel Management. After completing his education, we began to work with the Alabama Aviation and Technical College in Ozark, Alabama as a instructor to students whom were training to work in Aviation Maintenance and Aviation Technical training courses. After retiring from the college, Mike enjoyed his retirement, including travel, daily lunches with friends and former co-workers. Mike was a devoted family man to his children, family and extended family. He will be missed.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Ennis Rosentrater; parents, Willard and Laura Rosentrater of Woodland, PA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Moore Ennis and Patricia Brownell Ennis of Birmingham, Alabama.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Rosentrater of Ozark; grandchildren, Michael David and Rebecca Carroll Walden of Ozark; sister, Irene Ruth Ferguson of State College, PA; sister-in-law, Carol Ennis-Carroll (Eddie) of Canton, GA; beloved nieces, Janice Ferguson Swayne (Matt) of State College, PA; Patricia Mary Carroll of Canton, GA; brother-in-law, William S. Ennis of San Juan Capistrano, CA. and special friend, Carol Culver.
