Odis Freeman Moore

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church in Newton with Reverend Craig Bailey and Brother Hobson Walden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Moore was born April 18, 1940 in Baldwin County Georgia to Andrew and Susie Martin Moore. He worked for 38 years at Fort Rucker as an Aircraft Mechanic Inspector. Mr. Moore was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for 50 years. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to his family and all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Dillard Moore; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, James (Iris) Moore, Buddy (Mott) Moore and Jack (Virginia) Moore; two sisters, Yvonne Moore and Mattie Lou Moore and six brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his daughters and son, Beverly Moore Daniels (Tony), Joe Moore (Shawna) and Janice Moore Horton (Ken); nine grandchildren, James “Jamie” Daniels, Brandi Daniels, Caleb Moore, Austin Moore, Ashley Allen, AJ Allen, Alyssa Allen, Kenny Horton and Izabella “Izzy” Horton; one brother, Tony Moore (Reece); one sister, Josephine Gibson (Jim); one brother-in-law, CJ Dillard; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Herring, Susanna Blocker and Sharon Clark; also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Daniels, Caleb Moore, Austin Moore, Kenny Horton, Earl Blocker and Tim Dillard.

Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
