

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chalkhead Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with military honors and Masonic rites under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 3-6 p.m. at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born January 26, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He joined the U.S. Army in 1976 and was stationed in Germany. Later he was stationed at Fort Rucker. While at Fort Rucker, he attended the Alabama Aviation Technical College where he received his A & P Mechanics degree. He received an honorable discharge from the Army and went to work on the maintenance contract at Fort Rucker. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 349, a Past Worshipful Master and Secretary and a current 32º member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dothan. Philip was a 25 year member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 2003 where he was currently serving as Secretary-Treasurer since 2000. He was serving as Secretary-Treasurer of the Alabama State Council of Machinists. He was a member of the Wiregrass Labor Council; he served on the Legislative Committee, Contract Committee Chairman, Organizing Committee for District Lodge 75, and the Entertainment Committee. He served as a Delegate for IAM & AW District Lodge 75. He previously served as a Shop Steward at Hanchey Field and as a Grievance Negotiating Committeeman for the current CBA. He was a member of CLUW, a delegate to the Alabama AFL-CIO. He was the current Vice President of the Dale County Democratic Club. He was a strong supporter of the Wiregrass United Way, American Heart Association Relay for Life, Guide Dogs of America, Army Community Services, and American Red Cross. He served as a substitute teacher at the Aviation & Technical College. He was currently employed by Army Fleet Support as a Technical Inspector on the Apache Aircraft at Hanchey Field First Shift.
Philip was an avid fisherman, lover of Alabama football, and supporter of NASCAR racing with Dale, Jr. as his favorite driver. He loved his cats, Houdini, Calikat, Sweetie and Lil Bit, and his horse, Lilly. He was a strong believer in God, and he believed there was good in everyone. He believed in America and the Support of American Jobs, and the protection of the American Worker. He had a way of touching people’s lives and hearts and loved watching his grandchildren show cows.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhea Johnson; father, Ronald Williams; step-father, Bob Johnson; step-son, Chris Enfinger; and a special aunt, Granny Aunt Mert.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Pamela Williams, Ozark, AL; step-son, Justin Tyler Williams, Fort Bragg, NC; step-daughter, Heather Williams, Ozark, AL; son, Todd Enfinger, and wife, Michelle, Hartford, AL; twin sister, Phyllis Gray, Indianapolis, IN; brothers: Ronnie Johnson and wife, Kathy, and Lee Johnson, all of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Sherri Pippin, Reedsport, OR; grandchildren: Brooke Enfinger, Cali Enfinger, and Tyler Wood, all of Hartford, AL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Geraldine Fain, Ozark, AL; sister-in-law, Sandra Peters, and husband, Jeff, niece and nephew, Jessica and Jacob Peters, all of Ozark, AL; and special cousin, Mary McFarland, and husband, Bill, Rockwood, TN.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeff Peters, Jimmy Cotter, Richard Green, Ron Vais, Mark Johnson, and Bill Purvis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin Williams and the Members of the Machinists Union. Philip will truly be missed by all.
