

House in Palm Bay. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Joseph and Susanna
Gioia.
Augustus was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force, where he retired as
a T/Sgt serving in Korea and Vietnam. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross
from the USAF in 1969 for heroism during an aerial flight in Vietnam. Previous
recipients were Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart.
He retired from UPS before he came to Brevard County in 2004 from Lyndhurst,
NJ. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, VFW Post 4206, American
Legion Post 117, AARP, East end Democratic Club, Lyndhurst, NJ, Air Force
Sergeants Association. He enjoyed playing BINGO.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Susan (Frank) Grella, Lucille (Russell)
Titus and Debra (John) Moore, a brother, Richard and sisters, Clara and Yola.
Grandchildren, Laura and Marisa Grella, Kristin and Kevin Titus, all of whom he
loved and was very proud of, and many nieces and nephews, He was predeceased
by his wife Antoinette, brothers, Frank and Anthony, sisters, Florence, Anna, Josie,
Frances and Catherine.
Services will be held later in New Jersey. Friends planning expressions of
sympathy are asked to consider William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL.
