Barbara Lenore Carr

Barbara Lenore Carr of Palm Bay Florida passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on February 2, 1934, in Port -of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago spending her early years with her mother, Helen Oliver Gibbs and her siblings, Dorothy, Grace and Keith.

On May 10, 1958, Barbara Lenore Oliver married Noble Fitzgerald Carr with this union producing four children Christopher, Cheryl, Cindy, and Crecia. In the 1970’s she migrated to the United States, New York City where she raised her children starting a new life with dreams and aspirations to enhance all their lives. She always attests her strong faith in God as the result of her children and grand-children success.

Barbara otherwise known as “Babs” retired early from American Express and relocated to Palm Bay, Florida in 1996 with her husband where she enjoyed going to church at Eastwind Pentecostal church serving in the garden keepers group, gardening, and spending summers with her grandchildren. Serving others was always a compassion of hers. The latter years included preparing meals during the holidays for Cita Rescue mission and volunteering at VITAS hospice. She truly believed it was better to give than receive as she often stated, “The Blessings of Jesus Christ was all that she needed”.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her mother Helen Oliver Gibbs, sisters Dorothy Cox, Grace Hall, and close cousin Phyllis Joseph.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Noble Carr, her children Christopher, Cheryl, Cindy, and Crecia; brother, Keith Oliver, daughter-in-law, Diana Carr Ramsey. Her beloved grand-children Kamelah, Terrence, Channelle, Cheri Ann, Christopher Jr., Prinston, Cierra, and Braxton. Her cousins Mervin Oliver, Diane Oliver, Brenda Hill, and Wendy Alexander; nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and church family at Eastwind Pentecostal Church.
