

Carl Elwood Saeger, 84, passed away on January 24th, 2017. He was the window of Alice M. Saeger whom passed away on June 24th, 2005. The two were said to be soulmates. They were fortunate to have shared 50 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on July 15th, 1932, Carl was the son of Paul J. and Margaret E. (Scheirer) Saeger. For a while, he worked as a carpenter with his father, Paul. At the age of 19, he decided to honor his country and joined the United States Army. During his time of service, he was in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He proudly served for 20 years, retiring in1973 as a Master Sergeant.
Carl was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 117, and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed being active in his community and going out to socialize. He also enjoyed collecting various items; he was a HUGE collector. He was excellent at investing too. Being as intelligent as he was, it was no surprise that he was good at managing money. He will be remembered for his generous and caring personality and the love that he had for his entire family, including his dogs. Also his superb craftiness.
He is survived by his four children: David K. Saeger, Richard A. (Linda) Saeger, Steven D. (Charlotte) Saeger, and Deborah L. Saeger; and seven grandchildren: Jennifer Favors, Brian Saeger, Debra Saeger, David Saeger Jr., Carl David Saeger, Nathan Saeger and Rachel Saeger.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909 with interment directly afterwards at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to the time of the service.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the William Childs Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway, Palm Bay, Florida 32907.
