Charles “Charlie” Long, age 85, passed away on July 10, 2015 at Sebastian River Medical Center, surrounded by family. He was born in Holmdel, NJ and served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He met his wife, Yukiko while stationed in Japan. He moved to Sebastian in 1992 and started a wonderful retirement here. He is survived by wife, Yukiko of 50 years, 2 sons, Mike (Arlene) and Charles T. (Michelle) and daughter, Mary (Mark) Mergott; 6 grandchildren and his sister Helen “Sissie” Southcott, who also resides in Sebastian. Charlie was an active member of the American Legion of Sebastian, Post 189 and Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 10210. Charlie was a good friend to many, mentor, husband, father, and grandfather. He will surely be missed. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay.
