Born in Champaign Illinois, he lived and worked there for 30 years. He then moved his family to South Florida where he resided for 50 years. He was employed by Dade County Public Schools as a PE teacher, an administrator, and a principal.
Chester served in the Navy during WWII. He belonged to Norland Methodist Church in Miami and First United Methodist Church of Melbourne. One of his favorite pastimes was golfing.
He is survived by Pat, 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 5th, 2017 at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Melbourne, 110 E. New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901. Entombment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
