

Curtis was born August 7, 1957 in Madisonville, Kentucky, a son of Curtis Rex Shanks and Marilyn Lois Hopper Shanks. Before becoming disabled, he was a successful hairstylist. He was of the Christian faith.
Tony loved the outdoors, camping and hiking. He enjoyed playing his guitar. Tony had a huge variety of musical tastes, but one thing was for certain, he loved to listen to his music turned up loud. He had a creative spirit, was charming, charismatic, and loved people.
He is survived by two daughters, Megan Paxton and husband Robert of Rockledge, Florida and Tessa Shanks of Titusville, Florida; his father and mother, Curtis Rex Shanks and Marilyn Lois Hopper Shanks of Palm Bay, Florida; one brother, Brian Shanks of Palm Bay, Florida, one grandson, Aiden Shanks of Titusville, Florida; one niece, Nicollette Wellman.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Graveside services will be held for Tony at 10:00am, Saturday April 16, 2016 at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Tony’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 153 Thierman Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40207 or The Humane Society.
