Donald Edward Haugen was born in Havre, Montana on June 27, 1937 to Dorothy Dean and Martin Haaultin Haugen. He graduated from Chester High school in 1956 and served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964. He separated from the Navy with an honorable discharge and the rank of FTM3 (E-4).
Donald held a number of occupations including as the very first service person for Magic Chef corporation. His passion, however, was lighting up people's lives, both literally and figuratively. As a lighting salesman, his efforts improved the lives of countless people and his perpetual smile never failed to bring joy to a room.
Donald passed peacefully in his sleep at home on August 14, 2025. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Bonnie Jean Haugen. He is survived by his four children, Martin Allen Haugen, Dennis Edward Haugen, Valerie Jean Werner, and Steven Scott Haugen. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. He will be always beloved and missed.
