

She was born on March 3, 1927 in Hoboken, New Jersey. During her lifetime she lived in: Bronx, NY, Oradell, NJ, Great Falls, Montana, Claymont Delaware, Newboro, Ontario, Canada, and Indian River Shores, Florida. Early in her life she worked for New York Bell System. That was followed by raising her children while assisting her husband with the family business. She then owned and operated a gift shop called Wallace of Westport, in Westport, Ontario, Canada.
She did volunteer work for the PTA, and the Pascack Valley Hospital Association. She will be remembered as a loving mom and as a very strong independent woman, who never backed down from what she believed in. She also loved every dog she met.
She is survived by: her daughter, Elizabeth Barbara Niewenhous Anderson and her husband Greg, Her son Robert Siebrand Niewenhous and his wife Janet, five grandsons: Ryan Scott Anderson (Michelle), Robert Scott Anderson, John Thomson Anderson (Katie), Robert Siebrand Niewenhous (Shirley), Matthew James Niewenhous, and three great grandchildren: Lane Anderson, Caitlyn Daniello, and Ian Ambrossi.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Siebrand Niewenhous in 1982, her son Bruce Robert Niewenhous in 1978, and an infant son Robert S. Niewenhous in 1949.
A small memorial service will be planned at a later date.
In her memory she requested that people do an act of kindness for a friend, family member or acquaintance. She also requested that people should always carry dog biscuit's or treats in their pockets.
