

Bob was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 1, 1934 to the late Charles and Ruby Mitchell. Graduating from Wilmington High in 1952, he spent most of his life here. He worked for many years at Container Corporation (CCA) prior to becoming a self-employed businessman, owning and operating Bobs Books in New Castle for over 20 years before retiring.
Bob enjoyed spending time in his workshop. He was expertly talented at crafting scale models of old western stage coaches and carriages, winning many first prize ribbons at the Delaware State Fair. He also was an avid woodworker and furniture maker.
Bob is survived by his beloved companion Evelyn Engelken; his eight children Sharyn Kishel, Patricia Lord, Cathleen Lyons, Carol Davis, Bobby, Bill, Charles and Mark; his four step-children Deborah Tribble, James May, Donna Renulfi and Donald May; his wife, Helen, of 46 years; his brothers Charles Jr. and Joe; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at
