Gene owned and operated Saxtons’s TV and Appliance in Scappoose and St. Helens, Oregon. He was a member of Al Kader Shrine in Portland, Oregon, president of Columbia Country Shrine CLub in St. Helens, Oregon, member of the Palm Bay Masonic Lodge, The Azan Shrine Temple in Melbourne, a past Chaplain of the Eastern Star, and past commodore of the St. Helens Yacht Club and a member of Blue Gavel International.
Gene is survived by his wife of 44 years Betty Lou of Palm Bay, his sons Howard G. Saxton of Palm Bay and Thomas Saxton of Portland, Oregon, his daughters Sheryl Saxton of Palm Bay, Kellee Maze of Vancouver Washington, and Lisa Nystrom of Wayne, NJ, and his sister Cheryl Saxton Heil of Republic, Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
