Celebration of the life for John B. Childers will be held this Friday March 14, 2014 at Fountainhead Funeral Home. John departed this life for eternal rest on March 8, 2014 at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home. John was born in Lewiston, WV to the parents of Wilson and Crildia Childers. He moved to Florida in 1952 from Charleston, WV. John served in World War II and worked almost his entire life as a Brick Mason. He enjoyed bass fishing and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He once broke his hip playing basketball at age 88.
John is survived by his grandson John C. Childers and wife Jenny; granddaughter Jennifer Bryant Husman Norman of Leesburg, FL; and three great-grandchildren Travis, Holly, and Blake.
John was preceded in death by his wife Mary Rose Childers. Services will be held this Friday March 14, 2014 at 1:00pm visitation and 2:00pm services.
