May 27, 1931 – September 20, 2025
With heavy Hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of John (Johnny) Leland Day, who, on September 20, 2025, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was 94 years old.
Johnny was born on May 27, 1931, in Fellsmere, Florida, to Americus and Ivah Day. From humble beginnings, he built a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering Love. His Heart was vast enough to hold generations, yet tender enough to lift the weary, comfort the broken, and Love without condition.
He leaves behind the Love of his life and faithful companion of 70 beautiful years, Joleen Day. Their marriage was a testament to enduring Love, commitment, and shared joy. Together, they built a legacy centered on Love, family, and strong Christian values.
He is also survived by his cherished daughter, Vicky Day Waters, whose life was forever blessed by the strength and steadiness of her father’s Love. His pride and joy extended to his two grandsons, Justin Waters (Anna) and Lee Waters (Stefana), who were shaped by his wisdom, humor, and deep affection.
The light of Johnny’s spirit continues to shine in the lives of his four great-grandsons: Kade, Zachary, Jackson, and Maddox. Through them, his legacy of kindness, character, and faith will live on.
He is also survived by his brother, Harold Day, and a circle of extended family and friends who were touched by his steady kindness and quiet generosity.
Johnny found joy in life’s simple pleasures- playing his guitar, watching football, and spending time with those he Loved. His music was a gentle echo of his soul, and his presence brought comfort and peace to many.
He was a faithful and longtime member of the Fellsmere Church of God, where he worshipped, served, and fellowshipped with a Heart rooted in Christ. His faith wasn’t just something he spoke- it was how he lived.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved siblings: Charlotte Weaver, Raymond L. Day Sr., Eleanor Steinmetz, and Freda Peterson- all of whom he Loved dearly and now joins in eternal rest.
To know Johnny was to know compassion, quiet strength, and a Heart that beat in rhythm with the needs of others. His warm smile, gentle words, and steadfast faith were constants in an ever-changing world. He lived not for recognition, but for the joy of serving, Loving, and walking humbly with God.
Though our Hearts ache in his absence, we find peace in knowing he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the values we uphold, and the Love we continue to share.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 10:00am at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
