He grew up in Melbourne and graduated Eau Gallie High School in 2010. Not long after graduation, Joseph surprised his family by announcing that he had decided to join the United States Air Force. Though unexpected, this decision soon became a defining part of his life, showcasing his courage, dedication, and sense of duty. He went on to serve with honor for almost 15 years as an active-duty airman, earning the admiration of all who served alongside him.
During his Air Force career, Joseph began as a student at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, where he built the foundation of his technical expertise. He later became a technician at Whiteman Air Force Base, earning his degree as an Airframe Repair Technician and awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his excellence and commitment. Joseph continued to excel as an F-22 Craftsman at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska before ultimately becoming a supervisor at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. His career reflected not only his skill but also his leadership and genuine pride in serving his country.
Beyond his military service, Joseph lived a life full of warmth, humor, and passion. He was a BIG gamer who especially loved playing Overwatch, a fast-paced first-person shooter that perfectly matched his competitive spirit and quick reflexes. For Joseph, gaming was more than a pastime—it was a way to connect, laugh, and build friendships that spanned the country. He also enjoyed working on his car, always fine-tuning and upgrading it with the same dedication he brought to everything in life.
Joseph loved his cats, as his daily companions and a source of comfort. He also found joy in taking long drives, whether traveling from Phoenix to California or making cross-country trips back to Florida to visit family and friends. These journeys reflected his love of adventure and his devotion to those he cared about. He was known for being honest, genuine, and fun to be around. His straightforward nature and easygoing spirit made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. Joseph also had a love for cooking, and some of his most memorable dishes included flavorful Japanese curry and his signature oversized hamburgers—always prepared with love and a dash of his playful personality.
Joseph is survived by his loving mother, Harriett Spaulding; his sister, Nicole Spaulding Pinto; and his brother, Lowell (Isaac) Spaulding. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Spaulding. Joseph will always be remembered for his selflessness, humor, loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family, pets, and country. His legacy of service, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends for Joseph will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00pm.
