Kathryn "Kay" Victoria Knight

Kathryn Victoria Knight, better known as ‘Kay’, was born on November 12th, 1951, to the proud parents of the late Mr. Wilbert B. Brooks, Sr., and his wife, the late Mrs. Dorothy M. Brooks-Bacon, as well as her loving stepfather, the late Mr. Jack Bacon, in Miami, Florida.

She was the second of eight children. She received her education through the Miami-Dade County school system. In 1970, she married Josh Knight, of South Miami, Florida. As a loving wife and child of God, she became a loving mother of six children. Kay was an active Christian with the saints at Eau Gallie Church of Christ. Kathryn loved her family and looked forward to family gatherings and family reunions.

She enjoyed going on cruises, working with children through the Brevard County Child Development Center, being an active Brevard Zoo annual pass member, attending the Georgia Honeybee Festivals, playing card games, having fish fries, cooking and entertaining family and friends at her home in Palm Bay.

Kay leaves to mourn her passing, yet her cherished memory with husband, Josh Knight, one daughter, Jackie Lewis (Major), 5 sons, Donell (Sabrina), Josh II, Charles B. (Shaquanda), Michael D. (Beverly), and Eric T. Knight; one brother, Wilbert ‘Butch’ Brooks of Miami, FL, three sisters, Peggy Brooks, Teresa Poole (Eddie), and Keshion Brooks; 8 grandchildren (Donell II, Devontre, Lorena, Major, Shaniyah, Braylon, Serenity, and Avery); 2 honorary grandchildren (Noah and Maya); many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; as well as her 4 grand pets (Conan, Alley, Roman, and Buddy). Her earthly departure on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 will leave a void in our lives, but her memory will live on.

A memorial service will be held 9 am Saturday, June 22nd at Eau Gallie Church of Christ, 1079 Sarno Rd, Melbourne, Florida. Repass to be announced following the memorial service.
