Laurel McKenzie, born on February 11, 1934, in Havana, Cuba to parents Eric Hewitt and Lolita Bernard. Laurel migrated to the United States at age nineteen and spent time in New York and Virginia before moving later to Florida. Laurel passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 91.
She is vibrantly remembered as a great mother with a loving and kind heart. She loved to dance and cook for family and friends.
A visitation will be held at The Episcopal Church of Our Savior, located at 1000 Jersey Lane NE, Palm Bay, Florida, Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00am to 11:00am.
A Funeral Service will follow at the same location beginning at 11:00am to 12:00pm.
The Committal will take place at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida, also Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00pm to 1:30pm.
