Lloyd G. Vassell, 81, of Palm Bay died Sunday (2/24) at his home. A native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, he came to the Palm Bay area in 1999 from Brooklyn, NY. He was a Seventh Day Adventist and had worked as an elevator operator for one of the theatres in New York.
He is survived by his son: Keith of Hartford, Conn.; two daughters: Deloris Vassell of Palm Bay, Pauline Lewinson of Bronx, NY; four brothers: Wellington of Brooklyn, NY, Emerson of Miami, FL, Cyril, Jr. of Jamaica, Waldo of Trinidad; one sister: Winiford Forbes of Miami, FL; eight grandchildren: Denise Valcin, Dwayne Bowes, Danielle Michael, Lorraine Douglas, Norman Vassell, Jennette Vassell, Joshua Vassell, Corey Lee; and ten great-grandchildren: Elijah Valcin, Khalil Valcin, Jadore Bowes, Chad Vassell, Jordan Vassell, Justice Vassell, Jayson Vassell, Josiah Lee, Anthony Gunther, Nyerere Vassell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday(3/16) at 10:00 AM in the Greater Palm Bay Church of God with Pastor John Lewinson officiating. Entombment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday (3/15) from 5 until 8 PM. Fountainhead Funeral Home is in charge of services.
