

Lyle G. Griffith, a retired senior designer, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on March 25th, 2017. He was borne in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Clyde and Pearle Griffith. He graduated from Victory High School in Clarksburg and was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the China, Burma, India Theatre.
After the service, he attended West Virginia University for two years before going to work at Goodyear Aerospace Corp. in Akron, Ohio. He enjoyed his job and retired with 37 years of service. He lived in Akron for 49 years and after spending several winters in Melbourne, he moved there permanently in 1999. Mr. Griffith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge No. 735 F, and A.M. In Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Akron.
He was an expert rifleman and enjoyed hunting, pool, golf, and his Cleveland Indians, having followed them since 1948.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Anna Lou; his son, Gary (Linda) of Akron, Daughter, Rhea (Donald) Baer of Palm Bay; grandchildren: Christian (Tom Stockdale), Matthew (Jill), Mark (Kayla), Angela (David Howell), Michael Burks; and six great grandchildren. Also, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Pearle; brothers: Leslie, Jesse, and Roy; sisters: Ruth (Ralph) Pitzer, Virginia (Orpheus) Brissey, and Martha (Charles) Yost.
