Margaret K. Guy

Margaret Kathryn “Kathy” Guy, age 79, of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018, at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida, after a brief illness. During her final hours, she was surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was the loving wife of Norval M. Guy. They shared 52 years of marriage together.

Born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on June 20, 1938, she was the daughter of William Edward Barnes and Hazel Virginia Bradley, and was raised in St. Paul, Virginia. She retired as a Contracting Officer from Patrick Air Force Base in 1993 after 38 years of government service.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Brevard in Melbourne. In her early retirement years, she enjoyed bowling and was active in the Melbourne Women’s Club, Honor America, and volunteering at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by husband Norval M. Guy, brother William (Anna) Barnes of Lake Anna, Virginia, children Terry (Lori) Embrey of Melbourne, Florida and Jeffrey (Kathy) Embrey of Cumming, Georgia, step-daughters Beverley (Anthony) Suhre of Richmond, Virginia, Cindy (Bryan) Trant of Stafford, Virginia, Donna (Robert) Northern of Savannah, Georgia, and Rhonda (Peter) Giugliano of Suffolk, Virginia, 4 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, stepfather Claude Bradley, half-brother Walter Hugh Bradley, step-brothers Howard and Banner Bradley, son Henry Edward Bradley, daughter Tammy Doris Embrey, and granddaughter Teresa.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida with interment at Fountainhead Memorial Park. The visitation will start at 1:00 pm and the funeral will start at 3:00 pm. A reception on site will follow.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of South Brevard, 4300 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida 32935.
