Marilyn was a graduate of FSU (Go Noles!) and received her masters from UCF (go knights). She was a teacher and guidance counselor for over 40 years.
She was in a group that played Bridge weekly, rotating to each member's house around the area.
Maybe her biggest passion was crafts, many reading this probably still have something from "Crafts By Marilyn". Also, she recently joined Seaside Stitchers and had just mentioned she wished she had found the group much sooner.
Marilyn was also a longtime member of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority. Her Beta Mu Chapter meets often and are active within the community. One of their many projects is to provide a scholarship to an area high school senior. This was very special to Marilyn, as she always worked to raise money and help pick a deserving student.
With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, donations to the above scholarship in Marilyn's name would be greatly appreciated. Information for donating will be provided at her service on Monday.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FountainheadFuneralHome.com for the Buchanan family.
