Michael, lovingly known as Mike by his friends, was a man who was loved immensely by his close-knit group of friends and family. He was known for his kindness, his dedication and loyalty to his family, a warmth of spirit, and an incredible way he could start a conversation with anyone. Throughout his many professions, his strong work ethic was known by all. Once eyed by the special forces, his time and years spent in the military, always working with his hands, helped create the dedicated and down-to-earth spirit he was known for. Michael was also a talented Carpenter, having created beautiful pieces throughout his life using his knowledge and eye for detail.
As a father, Michael was exceptionally loving, giving, and inspirational. He was an avid lover of sports of all kinds, in particular baseball, where he spent countless hours watching with his beloved brother, Rick. Michael also enjoyed an eclectic variety of music and would often see live performances of his close friend, Gary Mousseau. Whenever he was in the car, the air would be filled with The Eagles or Bob Marley. His favorite activities were reading romance novels on the beach or enjoying a nice meal with a good friend.
Michael is survived by his father, Frank Schnee, his son Ryan Schnee, best friends Mary and John Goelz, family members Lauri, Skip, Kaleena, Brenda, and the countless people who called him friend. Now at peace, he will be joining his mother and two brothers in rest. His presence and love will be profoundly missed.
Although no service will be held (upon his request), all of his friends and family are encouraged to have introspective and personal moments of remembrance, and to celebrate the wonderful memories and moments Michael created, instead of his absence. Please feel free to send any condolences to his son Ryan ([email protected]). May we always remember his smiles and love.
