It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miriam Isabel Girard, aged 81, a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. On August 14, 2024, she left this world surrounded by the deep love of her family, leaving behind cherished memories that will live in our hearts forever. While our grief is immeasurable, so too is the gratitude we feel for the years we were blessed to share with her.
Miriam is survived by her two daughters, Kristine Rose (Rick Rose) and Kimberly Green (Billy Green), her grandchildren, Sean Rose (Natalie), Ericka Jones (Tommy), and Katelyn Rose, her great grandchildren, Emma, Lily, and Luc, and her brother, Thomas Beacon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Girard, their two toy poodles Penny and Tinker, her brothers Jay and Bob Beacon, her father Joseph Beacon, and her mother Miriam Isabel Maples Beacon. May God bless all of their souls.
Miriam, Mim to most, was a beacon of light while her smile brightened any room she entered. Her laughter was a source of comfort and joy, encouraging all who knew her to find happiness even in the simplest moments. Mim was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted athlete, excelling at golf, tennis, and even competitive bowling in her early adult years. Her green thumb was unmatched—she had a special love for working in the yard and took immense pride in the beauty she created there. The magic she crafted outdoors was not just a testament to her talent, but a reflection of the care and attention she gave to everything in her life.
Her life was rich with simple pleasures: a good book, a thrilling poker game, and the joy of shopping for treasures big and small. She loved putting puzzles together, each piece a reflection of her determination and perseverance to never give up no matter how difficult the task. An avid fan of the Hallmark Channel, she relished the heartwarming stories that lifted her spirit and brought a smile to her face. Mim was involved with her Bible study at Eastminster Presbyterian Church and loved singing and praising the Lord as one body.
Her heart was as golden as the love she gave to family, friends, and even those she just met; her impression was a lasting one for sure. Mim was happiest when those she loved were happy, healthy, and living their lives to the fullest, which is a beautiful testament to her character. She was the embodiment of kindness, and her absence leaves an emptiness felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Miriam has gone to be with the Lord, reunited with those she loved most dearly. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy of love, laughter, and light will forever be in our hearts. May her memory be a comfort to all who grieve her loss and may her spirit continue to inspire us to live with the grace and generosity she so beautifully embodied.
Rest in peace, sweet Miriam. You will forever be in our hearts.
Services to celebrate Mim’s life will be held on Saturday, September 7th Visitation will be held from 1-2pm followed by a Celebration of Her Life Service at 2pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Palm Bay, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by sharing a kind word, a warm smile, or a simple act of generosity—just as she did everyday of her life.
