

Richard "Rick" Marts, a cherished family man and community volunteer, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 77. Born on September 10, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Rick's journey was marked by a profound commitment to his family, a passion for sports, and a dedication to service.
Rick served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, a period during which he dedicated himself to his country with honor and pride. He married Sharon in 1968, and they raised a family that included three daughters and in later years were blessed with three granddaughters. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an IT manager, demonstrating leadership and expertise that earned him respect in his professional community.
Rick graduated from Barry University with a bachelor’s degree. His love for learning was paralleled by his love for hands-on activities like woodworking and racquetball. He had a special place in his heart for model railroading. An avid sports fan, Rick never missed a game of his favorite teams, which included the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, Florida State Seminoles, and the University of Central Florida football teams. He enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe with his wife, family and friends.
A man of deep faith and community spirit, Rick was actively involved in volunteering at his children’s and grandchildren’s schools and his church. He enjoyed many meaningful friendships throughout his life. Known for his outgoing and friendly nature, he lived by the motto that he never met a stranger, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. His love of dogs was a part of his everyday life.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Marts (née Olshansky); daughters Anita Pulver (Christopher), Kristina Reneau (Sean), and Debra Choma (Patrick); sister Elaine Collier; and granddaughters Addison Pulver, Ashlyn Reneau, and Ciara Reneau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Clyde Marts, and siblings Gloria Davis, Gary Marts, and Alan Marts.
A funeral service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock St SE, Palm Bay, Florida. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Research, Parkinson’s Research, or Vitas Hospice, honoring Rick's compassionate spirit.
