

Richard worked for Capp Custom Builders and MGB Homes as a draftsman and left his mark on many local homes and businesses in Sebastian, FL. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII who participated in Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa in November 1942. He was an early member of GMRA(Greater Miami Racing Association) and designed the layout of the Hialeah Speedway in the 1950s.
He enjoyed watching automobile racing, antique cars and old engines. He was devoted to his dog Abbey and his grand-dogs.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth G. Rogers.
He is survived by his son, Theodore, daughter-in-law Brenna Rogers of Gainesville Fl; step-grandson: Ryan Gibbs of Gainesville, FL; sister-in-law, Anne Goldy of West Long Branch, New Jersey; 3 nephews: Robert and Scott Goldy in NJ and Roger Peterson of Amador City,CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home Saturday (3/22) at 3PM.
