

Rick Nichols, 53, of Palm Bay died Monday at his home. A native of Denver Colorado he came to the Palm Bay area in 1990 from Orlando, where he had lived for 3 years after coming to Florida from New York. A US Marine veteran, he had worked at the Cape for Lockheed Martin and the United Space Alliance where he was an Areospace Technician. He was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed riding alone as well as with the several clubs he had participated with. He also enjoyed working with wood and could make almost anything out of wood, including a lot of the furniture that he had in his home. An outdoors man, he enjoyed fishing and boating as well as camping and snow skiing.
Survivors include his wife: Lisa, two sons: Christopher (Sandy) Nichols of Hudson, NC, James Nichols of Palm Bay; daughter: April Nichols of Palm Bay; Grandchildren: Dakota and Montana Nichols of Hudson, NC, Alyssa Cobb of Palm Bay. Predeceased by his father: Jerry; he is also survived by his step-mother: Patricia Nichols of Denver, Colorado; mother and step-father: Beverly (Mack) Salvatore of Elijah, GA; two brothers and three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday (2/14) at 2:00 PM in the Fountainhead Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until time of service.
