Ruth Ellen Wolters was born on January 2, 1939 to Avery and Helen Gates. She entered into the loving arms of her Savior on March 4, 2025. She passed peacefully in the presence of the love of her life, James Williams.
A woman of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. Ruth was a beacon of warmth to all who knew her and was loved by all. She shared nearly 40 beautiful years with her beloved James Williams. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family.
Ruth was a cherished mother to 4 children: Kenneth, Jeanette, Kevin, and Deborah. She was also a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored with a heart full of love. Ruth had 2 brothers and 1 sister, Joe(deceased), Floyd, and Rachel.
She enjoyed bowling on a league, shuffle boarding, playing cards and marbles. She loved hanging out with friends at the Fleet Reserve, where she would cook and put a smile on everyone’s face. Ruth loved going on cruises with her love, James, and friends. Ruth never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family any chance she could. She had a passion to care for others and became a dedicated nurse for many years and brought joy to all who knew her.
Ruth was one of a kind who will be remembered for speaking her mind and telling it like it is with no filter. Though her presence will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing that Ruth is reunited with her parents and brother in Heaven. Her family was the foundation of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to her family and friends.
