Sarah Michelle Gillespie, 27, lost her battle with cancer on June 12, 2020. She was a survivor of childhood cancer only to have it return again in the end of 2019. She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Sandra Gillespie and her maternal grandmother, Patricia Berens, as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Sarah was born in Melbourne, Florida and grew up in Palm Bay, Florida. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic school then Melbourne High School. She was an avid equestrian in her youth, active in her 4-H club, and the local horse show circuits. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Design from the University of Florida in 2015. After graduation, she spent the summer in Japan doing missionary work with the Navigators. Upon returning, Sarah moved to Atlanta to work in the interior design field. She returned to Florida after being diagnosed with Leukemia in October of 2019.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Palm Bay, Florida on June 20, 2020 at 11:00 am followed by Receiving of Friends at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida at 2:00 pm. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the Fountainhead Funeral Home at 3:00 pm.
