Sohodra Kalpatoo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sohodra Kalpatoo affectionately known as Chingee who left us peacefully on November 7, 2024, in Palm Bay, Florida, at the age of 90. Born on December 31, 1933, in Trinidad and Tobago, Sahodra moved to Palm Bay, Florida, where she spent the last 50 years of her life. She witnessed the city transform from open land into a thriving community and called it her second home.

Sahodra was a dedicated mother of six sons, Reginald (Deceased), John (Deceased), Claude, Leo, Simon and Francis. A loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Randall, Shammie, Harry, Shane, Shelly Ann , Stacey and Alexandra. And a cherished great-grandmother to six. Family was at the heart of all she did. She found great joy in bringing people together, offering a helping hand, and ensuring those around her, especially the elderly, felt cared for and loved. Her vibrant spirit and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Those who knew Sahodra will always remember her radiant smile and her unwavering strength in the face of life's challenges. Guided by her deep faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she faced every obstacle with resilience and grace.

A memorial service to celebrate Sahodra’s remarkable life will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10:00 am. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her memory and supporting one another through this difficult time.

Sahodra “Chingee” Kalpatoo will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and community will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
