On Thursday morning, January 02, 2025, Theodora Ferdinand-Pata, affectionately known as “Ti Yaya” or Man Nel to those close to her, moved to her heavenly home peacefully after two long years of battle with complications after a stroke.
Theodora was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children and grandchildren that would lead them all their lives.
Theodora was born in Saint Louis du Nord, Haiti, on March 27, 1944, the youngest of six children to her parents, the late Eugene Dieujuste and Luxilia Alexis. She was married to Nelson Pata, who had departed 26 years before her.
Following her husband's death, she came to the United States to live in Brockton, Massachusetts, where she resided for many years. Then, in 2012, she moved to Palm Bay, Florida.
Theodora loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God’s Word. She was a mighty prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a remarkable and eternal impact all her years of faithful praying have had on her family and friends. An active church member, Theodora found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving her church community, further deepening her walk with the Lord.
Theodora is survived by her beloved children, Julie and Alex, Kedma, and Nelza; and her greatest blessings—her grandchildren: Alexandra, Julian, Meghane, Maliyah, and Liam. Her brother Dieudonne Dieujuste. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were dear to her. Bernest Dalberice and family, Ifiana Verneus and family, Eunide Dieujuste and family, Charite Dieujuste and family, Therese Etienne and family, Ermana Laguerre and family, Itaziene and family, Angeline Alexandre and family, Emma Richard and family, Yvette Eugene and family, Marise Eugene, Edwin Diejuuste and family, Job Dieujuste and family, Kheim Dieujuste and family, Cynthia Medor, Gloria Illne, Wilhermine, and Ted Eugene. Beloved cousins Lofine A. Rozier and family, Michelet Alexis and family, cherished brothers and sisters-in-law, and her Godchildren hold a special place in her heart. She was blessed with the enduring friendship of Mrs. Frank Magnant, Mrs. Mathieu Monpremier, Mrs. Dejason Amertil, and Lydie St. Fenix. Her deep connection to her church family, both in Haiti and in the communities of Brockton and Palm Bay, brought her immense joy and spiritual fulfillment.
The families of Dieujuste, Eugene, Pata, Prophete, Alexis, Augustin, and Augustave deeply mourn her passing. May they find comfort in knowing she is in God’s Kingdom.
Theodora’s unwavering faith and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring solace to those she touched during her remarkable life.
