Linda Barks Douglass, 74, of Largo, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 7th, 2022. Linda was born in Anderson, Indiana and attended Center Grove High School where her father, John Barks, was a guidance counselor and dean. She married William Douglass in 1970 and was married to Bill for 51 years, until her passing. They moved to Seminole, Florida in 1979 and raised their four children there.
Linda was passionate about her faith, her family and her friends. She was a devoted follower of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and truly a servant of God. One of her greatest joys in life was helping others in any way she could. She owned her own cleaning business for over 39 years and loved being of service to her clients. Linda never met a stranger. If you had the pleasure of knowing her, you knew you had a friend for life. Her pride and joy was her family. She loved hosting family get togethers and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Linda was a member of PEO since 2003, a Philanthropic Educational Organization that raises funds to assist women with their education. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks since 1980. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew her -for her love, her kindness, her homemade chicken and noodles and German chocolate cake.
Linda is preceded in arriving at Heaven's Gates by her parents John Thurman Barks and Violet Watson Barks; her daughter Christina; her siblings Paul Barks (Lynn) and Dale Barks.
Linda is survived by her husband, William Douglass; her children Michael Douglass (Leanne), Kimberly Douglass (Tony Marrocco), Amy Douglass Triplett (Byron), and David Douglass (Miriam); her precious grandchildren-Jordan and Nolan Douglass, Austin Shermer, Cameron Thomas, Caleb, Zoey and Cruz Triplett, Xzavier and Jackson Oberton, and Tanner and Macynzee Douglass; her great granddaughter, Aurora Rose Shermer; her sister Suzanne Bell (Don); and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Her nieces, Stacy Ward and Denise Perry helped her so much in the months prior to her passing and were especially loved by her.
The family extends their sincerest appreciation to Season’s Hospice, especially Lisa LeFleur, for the exceptional care she gave to her. Linda’s Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, January 17th at 1pm at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks. Donations in her memory can be made to PEO, Chapter HK and mailed to President of Chapter HK, 7574 Aralia Way, Seminole, FL 33777.
