

Martin Gilbert Webb, 93, of Palmetto passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home. Born Nov. 28, 1922 in Franklin county Illinois, he was the son of Paul and Ruth Webb. He graduated from Benton High and Southern Illinois University. He moved to Palmetto, FL, in 1962 and taught science at Palmetto High and Lincoln Middle over 25 years in Manatee County. He attended Palmetto First Baptist, served as a deacon and taught the men's Sunday school class. In retirement he moved to Frog Creek and attended Gillette Baptist Church. After 63 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by his spouse, Dortha Miner Webb. A memorial service will be held at Gillette Baptist Church on Saturday, September 24, 2016 located at 3301 97th St E., Palmetto, FL 34221. Doors will open at 10 AM with a service following at 11 AM. Gilbert is survived by his 2 daughters Judy (Jim) Anderson and Linda (Lloyd) Nickerson; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Gillette Baptist Church.
