Querida familia de Freddy, la paz este  con ustedes. This is Deputy Brian Clark. I had the privilege as well as honor of meeting and working with Freddy in Downtown L.A. at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center courthouse for Court Services Central Bureau, better known as CCB. 

Before Freddy transferred out of CCB, he asked me if I wanted to take over his courtroom. I felt honored that not just anyone, but Freddy, a righteous and well-respected deputy trusted me to have his staff under my care, that meant a lot. Freddy introduced me to the wonderful judge and staff, and I gladly accepted the offer. It was an absolute pleasure to work with that staff. I stayed in that court for the rest of my time at CCB until I transferred to Van Nuys Court. 

My favorite memory of Freddy is the most important. One evening, I was with my wife and son at the Saturday Vigil Mass at St. Didacus Church. At some point during mass, over to our left, as Father Bob mentioned that’s where you guys usually sit, I saw Freddy, and I excitedly whispered to my wife that’s my friend, Freddy, who I worked with downtown! He was with Maggie and Victoria who we had the pleasure of meeting after mass. We saw this beautiful family another time or so at the Vigil Mass. I had no idea this was the last time I would ever see Freddy, and seeing him there for the last time at St. Didacus Church for mass, what better way than seeing Freddy with his family worshipping Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?

Maybe Freddy is teaching our oldest son, our baby boy, who did not get to live in this life, how to play baseball in Heaven. It was a true honor to take care of Freddy’s staff, and if there is anything we can do for you, Maggie, Nate, Kayla, Victoria, Adrian, Demecio y Victoria, Leticia, Carlos y toda la familia y amigos, por favor avisanos. God bless Freddy, his family and all his loved ones.

Freddy it has been a minute since we saw each other, but I will always remember your smile and kind heart. Brother, you were the first taken from LASD Class #327, but you will live in our hearts forever.  Heaven must have needed another angel on duty at the gates of heaven, and until we cross paths again, RIP PeaceKeeper.

This was a typical day when the cousins got together. I miss you very much cousin. Gone but will never be forgotten.

This is a hard one, I post this with the utmost broken heart 💔. Freddy was the 3rd oldest cousin on my mom’s side and every single one of us not only looked up to him because he had the biggest heart and was the most generous person, but he just loved us all so much. He was incredibly funny, goofy and a big jokester. Most importantly, he was an amazing Father, a true definition and example of what a loving Father was. He was also a Husband, Son, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Uncle and Friend. He was currently serving as a Sheriff for LA County and the amount of pouring love due to his contribution in the department has been endless thus far. I, as well as many of my cousin’s have the best memories with Freddy. I’ll always remember that big appetite you had, watching you and Tavo eat those big Turkey legs on Thanksgiving. I’ll never forget all the jokes and funny moments and outbursts at random times making us all laugh so hard. I’ll never forget that one Xmas where you were my secret santa and you gifted me a little Coach wristlet, I loved it so much, it was my 1st Coach product and I treasured it. I felt so special that you gave me such a beautiful gift that year. I’ll never forget the big bear hugs you gave us all and big wet kisses where after we’d wipe our faces yelling “Freddyyyyy”. I’ll definitely never ever forget what a loving Son, husband  and Father you were, you showed the most love and affection I’ve ever seen from anyone. I’ll always admire your love story with Maggie and how you two found your way to one another again many years after and had a beautiful blended family. I will forever miss you primo, may you rest in peace. Love you so much!
