

A long time resident of Malvern, PA, she was born on July 1, 1937 in Bryn Mawr, PA to parents Helen (DiFrancesco) D’Onofrio and Peter D’Onofrio.
She received a Bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. A scholar of historical decorative arts, she was a Winterthur Fellow and a curator of the Chester Country Historical Society. She taught American Studies at West Chester University.
She was a patron of the Pennsylvania Ballet, and enjoyed the arts, gardening, tennis, and time with her family.
She was preceded in death by sisters Patricia Kauffmann and Dolores (D’Onofrio) Sullivan, and by her brother Michael Kauffmann.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Horvath of Malvern, PA, her son Joseph Horvath of Weston, MA, her daughter Lisbeth Turner of Kettering, OH, by her grandchildren Maxwell Horvath of Boston, MA, Amanda Turner of Upperco, MD, Julia Turner of Columbus, OH, Samantha Turner of Columbus, OH, and by her great grandson Harrison Horvath of Boston, MA.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 East Lancaster Ave. Paoli, PA.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17th at 10:00 AM at Saint Norbert’s Church, 6 Greenlawn Rd, Berwyn, PA, followed by interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA.
A reception will follow at Waynesboro Country Club, 440 Darby Rd, Paoli, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Joseph’s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD.
