Born on October 8, 1933 to Antonio and Betty Mendez in DePue, IL, the family settled in Palmerton, PA, where Dolores was raised and completed her education. Upon graduation from high school, she relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where she established a career as an Administrative Assistant, employed by the University of Pennsylvania, Sears, and Divine Providence Village.
Dolores was devoted to the Catholic Church, and enjoyed spending time and keeping up with her family and many friends. A long time resident of both Daylesford Crossing and Paoli Pointe, she loved reading and travel, playing mahjong and card games, listening to Neil Diamond and Mariachi bands, preparing and enjoying Mexican food, and indulging in ice cream. She never missed a chance to browse the shops, never met a stranger, but her most cherished role was that of grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dolores was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Albert DiCocco and Angelo Siciliano, both of whom shaped meaningful chapters of her life; her parents, Betty and Antonio; her sisters, Victoria Mendez Perez, Rose Mendez Strauss, Mercedes Mendez DiCocco; and her brothers, Aurelio Mendez and Jessie Mendez.
She is survived by her son, Fred DiCocco (Howell) and daughter, Rose Daily, and stepdaughters, Phyllis Breard (Bill) and Gina Arentzen (Mark); her sisters Carmen Miller, Maria Nothstein and Anita Correll (Robbie); her grandchildren Jennifer DiCocco Hill (Ken), Michael DiCocco (Olivia), John DiCocco (Emma Ford), Albert Daily (Gina), Jessica Nitsch (Dietrich), John Murray (Ashley), Dan Murray (Katie) and Alex Breard; and her great-grandchildren June and Cora Hill; James DiCocco, Jackson and Alaina Daily, and John Murray Jr and James Murray. She is also survived by her treasured nieces and nephews, and their children.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved so deeply, and that her warmth, kindness and unwavering love live on in everyone she touched.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at St. Norbert Church (6 Greenlawn Road, in Paoli PA) with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a Funeral Mass beginning 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude's in Dolores’ honor.
