Don had a keen interest in ideas and people that he passionately shared with others. His curiosity was nurtured at York Catholic High School in York, PA, and he continued to flourish at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Don proudly served in the Army during the Korean War.
Don’s passion for learning was shared with others when he led human resource initiatives at General Electric, Kimberly-Clark and Cigna. His career took him and his loving wife, Margaret (Peggy) Reismeier Falkenstine, to five different cities. They eventually returned to the Philadelphia area, living in Paoli, PA, for the last 42 years.
Don and the love of his life, Peggy, were married for over 69 years. They enjoyed playing tennis and traveling together, especially to Hilton Head Island, SC. Don’s curiosity led him to have many passions including Philadelphia and Villanova sports, golf, and music.
He was the son of Elizabeth Mann Falkenstine Mullen and Floyd Falkenstine. He was born on May 14, 1929.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Kauffman, his sister-in-law, Doris Wolf, his adopted grandson, Bret Sanner, and many nieces, nephews and their children. He will be missed by them and many other people who he positively impacted.
The funeral service will be on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. in the church he attended for many years, St. Norbert Catholic Church, 6 Greenlawn Road, Paoli, PA 19301
