

John Bycoskie of Malvern
On Friday, May 6, 2016, John Bycoskie, passed away. He was 83 years old.
His son, John Drew Bycoskie, daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Kehs, and six beloved grandchildren, Harry, Max and Tayler Kehs, and Chloe, Bergen and Elly Bycoskie, survive John. Formerly the husband of the late Catherine Cecilia Bycoskie and brother of Lorraine Yagel (John), Nellie Davis, Jean Novitsky (Carl) and Joan Green (Robert).
Affectionately known as “Mr. By” to the hundreds of students he taught over thirty years at Downingtown High School, he helped so many of them realize their potential in his science classroom.
Mr. Bycoskie is a graduate of West Chester University, and earned Masters of Education Degrees focusing on science and research at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University.
Mr. Bycoskie also began the wrestling program at Downingtown High School, leaving a legacy of athleticism and spirited competition that continues to this day.
Mr. Bycoskie also became an enthusiastic Penn State fan when his son, Drew, played football there, and he was an avid outdoorsman.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 104 Channing Ave., Malvern PA 19355. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge PA.
