Laurence M Darnell

Laurence M. Darnell (Larry), age 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was born June 29, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN. Larry spent his childhood years in Indiana before moving to Arlington, VA at age 13. His family would later move to Havertown, PA where Larry would spend his high school and college years. He would meet his love, Pat, during this time and marry shortly after college. They were married for 66 years.

Larry graduated from Villanova University with honors in 1958 with a degree in Accounting. He worked as a CPA in public accounting for years before becoming president of a trucking company in Northampton, PA. Eventually Larry founded his own trucking company, Lenrad Leasing. After retirement, Larry enjoyed his time volunteering for Surrey Services and Paoli Hospital.

An avid golfer, Larry loved his time on the course and on many golf trips with friends. He was a longtime member of St. David’s Golf Club in Wayne. Larry and Pat traveled extensively and were fortunate to see so much of the world on their adventures. And as a Villanova basketball fan, Larry enjoyed every game and had season tickets for over 30 years.

Most important to Larry was his love of family. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children: Larry (Jane), Sharyn (Kevin), Maureen (Jack) along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 27,2024 at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli at 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at noon.
