Sy was also a civic leader as a longtime member of the Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors. During his tenure, he stewarded the development of Chesterbrook and established the Tredyffrin Township Home Rule Charter. He also was an active volunteer at St. David’s Episcopal Church, spending countless hours as part of the “Fleas” booth at the annual church fair that raised tens of thousands of dollars annually.
Sy enjoyed spending time at the family home, Our Happy Place, in Emerald Isle, NC, rooting for Duke basketball and visiting friends and family across the country. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Sy is survived by his wife, Ann; their children (and spouses), Erica (Brad), and Doug (Tracy); grandchildren Christopher, Victoria, Kate, Jack and Charlie.
