Luis A. Gomez

Luis A. Gomez of Collegeville, PA, formerly of Berwyn, PA, passed away on 12-16-17. Born in Havana, Cuba, Luis immigrated to the U.S. in 1960 and became a citizen in 1972. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Temple University, and an M.B.A from Villanova University. After 25 years of working in the business community, Luis realized his dream of becoming a university professor, and taught at La Salle University for 16 years. He retired in 2016 with the title of Professor Emeritus. Luis enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and at his home in Key Largo, FL. He was the proud father of John Paul Gomez (pre-deceased). He is survived by his wife of 49 years Joanne (McDowell), son David, daughter-in-law Kathleen (Connell), grandchildren Elizabeth, Raymond and William, and his sister, Martha G. Horton. Visitation and services will begin at 10AM on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Alleva Funeral Home 1724 E. Lancaster Ave, Paoli, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken.
