Marni Schultz passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 after a long decline, surrounded by family, friends and flowers. Her beloved husband, Rob, beautifully described the completion of her life as "Blessed Release." She was at peace in her soul and ready to receive the eternal embrace of God, after a life of such faithfulness and purpose, love, color, creativity, and spunkiness.
Marni was born in Pittsburgh but spent most of her formative years near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Conestoga High School and received her degree in Art Education at Penn State University.
To those who knew her, Marni was an Angel on Earth, a kind and happy person who put her deep faith into action, even later in life, as she persevered through disability to live her best Christian life.
Marni began her career teaching children at The Devereux Foundation and used her artistic talents through subsequent roles at Gateway Craft Center and Paoli Florist. She was an avid gardener and gifted painter. She led a team of parents to design and paint the beautiful murals gracing the walls of Hillside Elementary School.
Marni held a deep passion for her spiritual life at United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, the church where she grew up and helped to make it a loving, spiritual community. Through her work in the church, she was an Elder, Council member, Sunday school teacher and lent her artistic, floral flair to the church sanctuary and property. She was a devoted volunteer at the Great Valley Food Cupboard and led a personal ministry to visit the elderly and shut-ins until she was too infirm to continue.
She was a devoted wife of 52 years to Robert Schultz and second mother to many, but especially to her beloved nephew Brian Tucker, whom she helped raise.
She will always be remembered as the crazy redhead, the impassioned artist, and forever the loving wife, sister, second mother, dear friend, and faithful servant to Christ. She is survived by her loving husband Rob Schultz, siblings David Taylor (Linda), Holly Branham, Jeffrey Taylor, Wendy Santillo and Kathy Fry. She was much more than an aunt to Jeremy Taylor (Vicky), Virginia Nolan, and Brian Tucker, and their dear children. Her gentle, loving spirit lives on in our hearts forever.
In honor of Marni’s love of flowers, a Celebration of Life service will be held at United Church of Christ Valley Forge at 11:00am on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
