Maureen was born in Philadelphia on February 20, 1948 to Mary and Martin McCans. Reenie is the cherished wife of Brian McNamara, whom she married on March 27, 1971. They lived in Pottstown, North Coventry Township, PA. They also spent many happy years in Yardley and Morrisville, PA.
Maureen was the loving mother of daughter Jennifer Hatt (Ken), sons Martin McNamara (Ameena), retired US Army Sgt. Kevin McNamara (Rose); and devoted Nana to grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Hatt, and Declan and Garrett McNamara.
Maureen was a graduate of St. Katharine’s of Siena High School in Wayne, PA. After taking classes at Drexel University, Maureen went on to become a silk screen artist for the family business, Durack Manufacturing, Philadelphia PA. Maureen went on to be co-owner of Durack, with her cousin and closest friend, Liz Durack.
Very artistic and creative throughout her life, Maureen applied these traits whenever possible - halloween costumes for her kids, set designs for school plays, or bedazzling synchronized swim suits. She was active in supporting The Catholic Charities on behalf of Holy Trinity Parish in Morrisville, PA. She shared a passion for gardening with her daughter and a love of hiking and the outdoors with her sons. In later years, Maureen enjoyed travel by RV to visit her family throughout the country. An avid sports fan, she held Philly sports dear, especially, the Flyers and Eagles; she never missed a game. Time with family was her favorite pastime.
Maureen had many close friendships lasting over 60 years. Elaine Siebold, Maureen McLarnon, Susan Lauer, Mary Sager, Pat McGilvery, and Eleanor Ripple remember her wonderful sense of humor, her laugh - and - her irresistible smile. In the past they loved to hear her play piano, listen to show music, and play cards.
Maureen is predeceased by her brother William J. McCans, sister Elizabeth Ann MIller, cousin Elizabeth O. Durack, and nephew Kenneth Piercy.
