Dear Dave and Carol,
This is a terrible shock to me and Jeffrey.  We remember Mike very fondly as always pleasant, hard-working in the scouts, and a pleasure to talk with.  He was too young to leave.  You are in my prayers.

We are saddened to hear of your and everyone's loss. Michael's leadership and friendship as a scout helped inspire our son, Tyler, to become an Eagle like Mike.  Of particular fond memories were the crab cookouts Mike and your family generously shared. As parents ourselves, the community grieves for you as a family and for the tragic loss of a promising young life. Most obviously Mike was a dear and special friend to many, as I have been a witness to the agony of his peers through the last  few days as they struggle to say farewell to someone who meant alot to them.
My husband had the pleasure of working with Mike in the culinary field and admired him personally and professionlly.
