Peter C. DePiano Sr.

Mr. DePiano was born in Solofra, Italy and moved to Paoli, PA at age 11. He was the son of the late Francesco and Consiglia (Gaeta) DePiano. Upon graduating Northern Chester County Technical School and West Chester University, Mr. DePiano was employed at Anro Inc Printing and Direct Mail for 38 years, serving many capacities, most recently as Production Planner and Estimator.

The love and passion of Peter’s life was his family. Surviving is his loving wife Margaret (Daniels) of Devon, son Peter Jr., and daughter-in-law, Heather, of Audubon, PA. Peter epitomized what it meant to be a father, sharing in many activities with his son, from coaching in the Devon-Strafford Little League, volunteering at the CHS TEMPO refreshment stands, or rooting for the Phillies and Villanova Wildcats. He also enjoyed surf fishing and crabbing along the Jersey Shore. The greatest blessing of his life, however, was the past four years he spent with his young grandchildren, Jack and Alexandra. As he told them each visit, he loved them from here to the moon!

In addition, Peter is survived by Brothers Michael (Laura) DePiano of King of Prussia, Cesare (Bambina) DePiano of West Chester, Gus (Nancy) DePiano of Media, Leo (Eileen) DePiano of Paoli, and Sisters Agatha (Bill) Watson of Pidgeon Forge TN, Amelia (Steve) Iannocone of Wynnewood, and Teresa (Jimmy) DiMedio of Newtown Square. Along with his siblings, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who were all fond of their beloved “Uncle Pete.”

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday evening, August 9th, from 6 to 8 pm at the Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. in Paoli. A second viewing will be held on Friday, August 10th, at 9 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford. A Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM in OLA Church. Interment will be at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield.
