He grew up with 7 siblings and a father who was a local Tredyffrin Township police officer. Richard always found himself surrounded with action and adventure along with anyone who liked to have fun. Dirt Bikes and go-carts where the go to for excitement growing up. That is until he learned how to drive. He soon found his passion for cars. Not too much later at the age of thirteen he secretly purchased a 1969 Dodge Charger where he quickly blew the motor doing donuts in a snowy parking lot. Growing up some as he turned 18, he joined the Army National Guard where he served for seven years in the Reserves. He attended basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia and was stationed in Phoenixville, Pa which was not far from home. During Richard's early 20's he moved to Pittsburgh, Pa where he attended automotive tech school, lived with his brother and started a new chapter in life. Continuing with his passion for automobiles, Richard learned and perfected auto body painting and was able to make a good living out of it. At the age of 27 he got married and had his first child Richard Hoch, Jr. not long after he purchased his first home in Devon where he had a big yard and a Dalmatian named Dollar. In his late 30's he opened a business called C&R Autobody located in West Chester. After working in many auto shops in the area he finally settled at Madden and Ryan Body Works where he could do full body restorations of antique and classic cars using all his skills. In his 50's he retired due to medical issues. This gave him a chance to relax a bit from a hectic life. As life went on his passion for classic cars never stopped. Rich always loved telling his life stories, life lessons and adventures all while being surrounded with friends, family and his cats.
